Associate Graphic Designer at Insider
I previously was an Associate Graphic Designer at Insider, prior to which I was a Graphic Design fellow and Insider's first ever fellow with the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists.
GIFs, Insider
A collection of GIF thumbnails I have made for Insider.
Design package for long-form feature story
I designed six pieces of art for a long-form feature story "The night the Lord of the Skies got away." I experimented with collage, composition, and cohesive photo editing to create the thumbnail (first image below) and five spot illustrations. Warning: graphic photo in one of the spot illustrations.
We/Us/Ours: A Pride series about queer community
I art directed Insider's We/Us/Ours special project for Pride Month in 2022, where I created a cohesive vision for the package and designed custom art, branding, and templated overlays for 16 articles. I also worked with the Project Manager, Brea Cubit, for the editorial vision of the package, which included selecting pitches, editing text, and coori with team members and management.
Social graphics, Insider
I've also designed graphics for Insider's Instagram pages, and face mask gif has received 240,000 views to date.
Green Building & Design (gb&d) and Sixtysix Magazines
As an Editorial and Graphic Design Resident at gb&d and Sixtysix Magazines, I have prepared photos, created image galleries and formatted multiple articles in WordPress (for example, check out this story for Sixtysix). Below are a few design projects I completed, including this animated web banner.
Using Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I created a storyboard and designed this social media video.
UX/UI Design
For my final assignment in my media design class, I created a UX/UI mobile app prototype for an original publication idea, Q Zine. While the assignment was to design an interactive digital storytelling experience, I decided to expand it further by creating community-building elements through the “Connect” and “Chat” features. The UX/UI mobile prototype was created using Adobe XD.
View and interact with the prototype below. From the homepage, you can click the image for the full feature story, as well as the “Spotlight,” “Connect,” and “Chat” icons for additional pages.
